  37. If the set top boxes are to become the norm, then perhaps all is not as
  38. lost as it might seem. Amigas will then be on the television of anyone who
  39. buys one of these surfers. Multitasking, picture playing, mind blowing,
  40. gobsmaking, internettin, cool browsing never seen a better system...(old
  41. pepsi advert tune:-).

  43. Anyway, if the A1200 & A4000T are still being sold,
  44. along with what ever new PPC ideas are up AT's sleeves, then the buying
  45. public will be better placed to follow up on that original purchase and
  46. take the obvious next step, a real version of what they watch on TV.

  48. Personally, I don't think the situation is all that bad, I don't think that
  49. it warrants a flurry of "oh my god, what's going to happen now? We've been
  50. sold down the line AGAIN and this looks like the end". Well, it's not.

  52. Take a bright positive view of the situation. Think about the people who
  53. have bought AT and then, when the dust settles, begin the gentle probing
  54. that we are all now well versed in "Escom last year" and /advise/ Viscorp
  55. Inc that they have a well supported *computer* that also plays a pretty
  56. mean Set Top Box.

  58. I also think that, if the PPC research has been started, then they will
  59. almost certainly be interested in this because it would open up
  60. opportunities for the set top boxes that even the A1200/A4000(T) don't
  61. presently present.
